b. 1973, Gideon Rubin lives and works in London. Known for its abstracted and faceless portraits, his work deals with memory, history, and identity, and is inspired by images from old photo albums, paparazzi shots, and paintings by Old Masters. Gideon Rubin has had numerous international solo exhibitions, including most recently at Galerie Karsten Greve, Paris; McCrory, Auckland; Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles; and Maho Kubota, Tokyo.
