IX. Shells

b. 1990, Panama City, Panama. Itzel Yard, recognized as IX Shells, is a self-taught Panama-based generative artist. One of her most outstanding projects includes “Dreaming at Dusk”, a collaboration between Yard and The Tor Project. Similar to icons of the mid-century generative art scene, the artist has set an achievable precedent for girls and women interested in a future in computer science, making Yard a pioneer of her time, pushing the boundaries of creative coding.
