Jammie Holmes

Born in 1984 in Thibodaux, LA, USA, and now based in Dallas, paints intimate and poignant scenes of American life, with a focus on the experiences and traditions of Black communities in the American South. Drawing from his own life, Holmes captures moments of joy, hardship, and resilience, offering a window into the nuanced stories of Black American experiences, marked by a personal and deeply felt narrative approach. He had solo exhibitions at venues like the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth, Forth Worth, TX; Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York; Gana Art Center, Seol; Library Street Collective, Detroit; Dallas Contemporary, Dallas.
