Jose Dávila
Born in 1974 in Guadalajara, Mexico, explores the interplay between contradictory forces in his work, creating a dynamic fluctuation between geometry and chaos, resistance and fragility, tension and stillness. His artistic practice, characterized by an intuitive understanding of structure, challenges the viewer’s perception of space and form. Through his use of various materials, the artist highlights their inherent contradictions as well as the relation between form and content. Dávila’s work was featured in König Galerie, Berlin; Kunstalle Hamburg, Hamburg; Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen; Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona; Sean Kelly, New York; Max Wigram Gallery, London, among other venues.
