b. 1989, Châtenay-Malabry, France. Lise Stoufflet is an Aubervilliers-based artist working between surrealism and narrative figuration. her paintings, drawings and ceramics invoke dreams, anxieties and common fantasies. Her ambiguous and intriguing compositions offer several layers of reading whose key of comprehension escapes to the spectator to better raise their questions and emotions. Stoufflet’s soft and candid palette and the recurrent clues she scatters in her paintings (strands of knotted hair, ribbons, tears or card games) both nourish a coherent and recognizable body of work.
