Matt Saunders

Born in 1975 in Tacoma, WA, USA, and active in New York, Cambridge (MA), and Berlin, pushes the boundaries of artistic media. Known for his moving image works and enigmatic portraits and landscapes derived from various sources (including avant-garde cinema and found photographs), Saunders employs camera-less photography, multi-screen animation, and unique painting and printmaking techniques to explore the transitory and emotive nature of images, challenging conventional perceptions of art. He has held solo exhibitions at institutions like Marian Goodman, London; Louis Art Museum, Missouri; Qiao Space, Shanghai; Blum & Poe, Tokyo; Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard University, Cambridge; Harris Lieberman, New York; Galerie; Andreas Grimm Gallery, Munich; Almine Rech, Paris.
