Maurice Mboa

b. 1983, Yaoundé, Cameroon. Maurice Mboa is a Geneva-based artist that has developed a rich and unique universe infused with his own brand of animism, as well as a very specific technique of engraving painted metal sheets. His signature blend of anthropomorphism and abstraction is instantly recognizable, in particular the streaked faces and “soulprints” of his mysterious figures.
