b. 1967, Ori Gersht is a London-based artist concerned with the relationships amongst history, memory, and landscape. In his work as a photographer, he often adopts a poetic, metaphorical approach to explore the difficulties of visually representing conflict and violent events or histories. Gersht’s works have been exhibited in numerous significant institutions, including the Guggenheim, New York; the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C.; the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
