Torbjørn Rødland

Born in 1970 in Stavanger, Norway, and now working from Los Angeles, creates photographic works that provoke a spectrum of emotional and intellectual responses, blending humor, artifice, curiosity, romanticism, and a reverence for the natural world. His works forge links between twentieth-century art photography and contemporary image-making practices associated with advertising and social media, while simultaneously achieving a unique visual expression that challenges the boundaries between photography and painting. His work has been exhibited at The Contemporary Austin, Texas; Fondazione Prada, Milan; Serpentine, London; C/O Berlin; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
