b. 1988, The American artist Zio Ziegler is known for his paintings, large-scale murals, and sculptures. Using primarily oil-stick, Ziegler works with textures that fuse the raw oil pigment with other materials such as sand, soil, and pumice. His images of monumental figures set in motion serve as a portal for the viewers, inviting them to perceive the work in their own way. Recent solo exhibitions include Almine Rech, New Yok; Allouche Benias Gallery, Athens, Greece; and The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, Novato, CA.
