The Secret in Their Eyes

The exhibition “The Secret in their Eyes” groups 13 contemporary artists who vary in medium, style, and artistic approach together. All, however, explore the ways in which our faces articulate the intricate tapestry of emotions that define us, putting forth bold and surprising interpretations of the human ability to reflect feelings and inner thoughts externally. While some artists opt for deconstruction, abstracting, reconfiguring, and reassembling the facial anatomy, others display a cohesive representation that stares back at the viewer, firmly and decisively. The eyes, rendered by the artists in various manners and shapes, play a key role in this exhibition, conveying the unspoken language of the psyche and offering a gateway into the complexities of the human condition. The penetrating gazes emanating from the works might induce the spectator to inquire: What message does my facial expression send to the world at this moment? What secret is revealed through my eyes?
